The National Defence Memory Institutions Portal (IMDN Portal) allowed building a solution that will enable, intensify and expand the public availability of the collections of National Defence Archives, Libraries and Museums, the so-called Memory Institutions, and created conditions to intensify the respective scanning process and long-term conservation.
The IMDN Portal allows researching, viewing and accessing 6 historical Archives, 26 Libraries and 10 Museums belonging to 7 National Defence Entities - including the Navy Central Library, the Navy Historical Archive and the Navy Museum -, which are made available on a single platform.
This joint project coordinated by the General Secretariat of the Ministry of National Defence was developed between January 2017 and June 2018 as part of the SIMPLEX + 2016 Programme and received Community funding under SAMA.
