The window to the ocean

Vasco da Gama Aquarium has a 'Window to the Ocean', where you can interact with the ocean virtually, and 'dive' into the depths of the sea. This window consists of a large interactive screen, where visitors can meet several marine species of the Portuguese coast, discover their habitat and their general and biological characteristics.

The project replaced the old brown fur seal tank, due to the fact that these large animals did not have the appropriate conditions in the space where they lived, and therefore, the Aquarium decided to stop keeping this type of large marine animals in captivity.

This new immersive space also features an interactive floor where you can play with other marine species, such as turtles. The younger ones have two tables, also interactive, where they can see the fish they draw come to life and follow them on the screens.
