Ensembles

A band like the Navy Band is often led to form different chamber music groups for public performances. These presentations are the result of the Band's programming requirements, but they are also opportunities for these groups to perform a specific repertoire, thus exploring a greater technical and musical refinement that will later be reflected in the Band as a whole.

Chamber music, as the name implies, is a style that allows for a reduction in the dimensions of orchestral music for smaller and closed venues. It emerged in antiquity, with the need to take instrumental music (with few performers) to the nobles' palaces.

These formations can easily perform various types of repertoires, from classical music to jazz, traditional, contemporary, popular, and light music, and also 'our' fado.
